At 1945 Police advised of missing person overdue from a walk/run off Maungatukutuku Road Paraparaumu. Kapiti based Police SAR staff were dispatched to do an initial recce. AREC pager went off at just after 2100 and HQ arrangements discussed for possible kick off at 0900 next day. An etxt heads up was sent out to SAR and AREC volunteers at 2243. Missing person walked out at 0130. Stand down page received at around 0200 and etxt sent out at 0702. If the op had gone ahead AREC would have been required to manage comms from Paraparaumu Police Station.
