2008 AGM Brief Report

The Annual General Meeting of the Wellington VHF Group was held last night, 31 October 2008; this was held immediately after the General Meeting and prior to the Special General Meeting previously referenced, and the AREC AGM.

Among the items of note:

Brian Fearnley, ZL2BRF was confirmed as President of the Group for another year and was congratulated on his appointment.

John Andrews ZL2HD was appointed as Vice President, a role which has sat vacant since the 2007 AGM.

With Mark Foster ZL1VMF stepping down as Secretary, Rob Wallace ZL2WAL accepted nomination and was appointed. Mark was thanked for his efforts over the last 12 months, and Rob was congratulated on his appointment.

Tom Clarke ZL2TDD was reappointed as Treasurer and was thanked for his tireless and ongoing efforts with the accounts.

The committee was appointed, with a couple of changes over 2007:

In General Business, It was moved and seconded that Tom Clarke ZL2TDD be invested as Life Member of the Wellington VHF Group. This was carried unanimously and Tom was congratulated by acclaimation. Tom has given many years of service to the WVHFG and the general feeling of the group was that this was a very well deserved recognition of his efforts.

The outgoing Committee were also thanked for its efforts over the last 12 months.

At the conclusion of all business there was a brief show'n'tell session, along with supper.
