As referenced in the latest Q-Bit, Wellington VHF Group now have a pamphlet available to help in the promotion of Amateur Radio.
You can add the appropriate contact details and print as many copies as you wish. It prints OK in black and white. The text has been developed with input and advice from commercial marketing experts.
An interesting callsign is in use for the month of January 2009: ZL74BARBQ.
This call is available for use by members to remind people that this month we have the annual Branch 74 Sladden Park barbeque on Thursday 29 January.

Hi all.
[On Tuesday] the last of the people who attended the Amateur Radio classes the group ran at Onslow Colleges, sat and passed the exam.
We can be proud that all who started completed the course, and passed their exams with marks between 85% & 100% !!

The broken VHF Group 11kV line was repaired on the afternoon of 9 July. The Belmont repeater site was placed back online late in the afternoon the same day. It operated on battery power until the line-company reconnected the 11kV supply on the morning of 10 July 08.
Details of the Become a Radio Ham classes are now published.
The classes are scheduled to run for 8 weeks on a Wednesday evening, 6:30-9:00 at Onlsow College in Johnsonville. The first series start on 30th July, and the summer series 22nd October.
Costs are now confirmed at $55 per student, payable to the College. See the page Callsigns and Training for details.
