Bruce Emirali, the Defence Force Spectrum Manager, gave a fascinating presentation to 30 members and visitors. Always interesting, sometimes intriguing, and at other times just plain amazing, the strategic and tactical uses of radio by Defence kept the audience enthralled. Bruce delivered a large amount of information, concisely and clearly, sometimes laced with humour, providing a very interesting talk, presented by a man who is obviously on top of his subject!.

After Bruce's presentation was completed, Simon ZL1SWW, a visitor from ZL1, spoke briefly about the modifications he had developed for the MAS 10GHz and 5 Ghz microwave "bricks" for use on Amateur frequencies. He showed off a converted 5.7 Ghz unit.

Discussion on both topics for the evening, Defence use of radio spectrum, and the converted microwave equipment, continued well into supper time.
