32 folk were informed and entertained on the topic of handheld radios at the "Handheld Clinic" and lecture at the July meeting. The Group welcomed visitors from neighbouring branches, Titahi Bay, Lower Hutt and Wellington, adding a distinct social flavour to the proceedings!

Paul ZL2BEZ presented an overview of the evolution of handheld radios, both Amateur and commercial. Many had brought their treasured relics or up-to-the-minute modern rigs to show and tell, (see image).

Several took up the opportunity to test their handhelds with the range of test gear provided, and of course there were some surprises!. Some of the Group’s many technical experts were on hand to offer explanations and advice.
