April General Meeting - 30 April - KorKor and Tetra Presentation

Over 30 Members plus 2 visitors were treated to a show-and-tell on the topic of digital radio, presented jointly by Aaron Olphert of Kordia, and Tony Philp-Wright of Capital Communications. Imagery and More below...

The KorKor Service is Introduced.

They provided a brief on Tetra, the standard their digtal radio system is based upon, and provided an update on the new "KorKor" network
recently commissioned by Kordia. Several Motorola digital hand-held radios were handed around and tested.

The Handheld unit - produced by Motorola - has a formfactor quite similar to a larger Cellphone and a user interface that people would be very much familiar with. The mobile unit is very similar to commercial RT units commonly found in the workplace.

If the success of the evening could be gauged by the number and quality of the questions from our Members, then this was a very successful
evening. If you would like more information on the KorKor network, please check out the KorKor website.
