Belmont 11kV Supply Restored

On Thursday 27 March the trees under the 11kV supply line to the Belmont Tower were cut down to form a permanent clear corridor. On the evening of Friday 28 March 2008 the 11kV supply was restored to Belmont.

Special thanks must be made to Peter Cobb ZL3TC and Gavin Cross ZL2TVM who especially configured the site for generator operation, and fed and cared for the generator while the power was disconnected. Due to lack of a secure compound it was not possible to leave the generator running unsupervised during the 4-6 hour charging periods. Peter was at the site at least every other day and liased with the tree-fellers on Thursday.

On behalf of the Group, and the 710 and National System users, thanks gentlemen for a great job!
