Repeater Maintenance: National System @ Wharite

[Make sure you've click 'Read More' for the full story!]

On 18 February Kordia Manawatu advised Wellington VHF Group that the linking antenna for the National System feed from Wharite to Egmont was broken. The link still worked, but obviously there was a need to effect repairs as soon as possible.

Saturday 23 February, Steve ZL2KG (Repeater Trustee) along with Daniel ZL2KA visited the Wharite site and replaced the faulty antenna. Fortunately, we'd already planned to replace these antennas so spares had already been ordered and were on hand for an immediate fit.

Service is now back to its high quality self - though I'm not sure that amateurs even noticed the difference, such is the quality of our repeater network. :-) Images courtesy ZL2KG.
