NOTICE - NOVEMBER MEETING Thursday 29 November

Our Guest Speaker for the 29 November meeting is Wing Commander Steve Alexander, Director RNZAF Communication Information Systems.

Wing Commander Alexander is responsible for all aspects of CIS in the RNZAF and participates in the numerous multi-national and joint committees on communications and information system matters. His main focus is on Network Enabled Capability (NEC) Air to Ground interoperability which includes tactical communications and battlefield information systems as they are employed in the application of air power.

Since he joined the RNZAF in 1982 Wing Commander Alexander has held numerous roles as an operator, leader, technology manager, and now director of RNZAF communications and information systems.

Wing Commander Alexander will be speaking on the RNZAF current and future use of RF systems and the challenges the RNZAF face. His presentation will include aspects of Link 16, P3 Orion Communications and the information management challenge, future tactical radio (V/UHF) uses including SINCGAR, HAVEQUICK, EPLRS, and UDOP/CROP distribution via VMF. This promises to be a riveting presentation to finish the year off with.
