Wellington VHF Group, Inc: Online.

The April General Meeting of the Wellington VHF Group was held on Thursday 29 April at our usual venue, the Tawa Community Centre. On the conclusion of general business and the official part of the meeting, John Yaldwyn ZL4JY, Chief Technology Officer of 4RF and long time member of the Wellington VHF Group, gave an interesting presentation on the latest innovation from 4RF.

Members were treated to a behind-the-scenes view of the development of RF SCADA systems, noting the more practical issues; cost, security, availability of spectrum, interoperability with legacy technologies and more. Several prototype and dummy units were on-hand as part of the presentation, and members were also able to inspect a 'real' circuit board which demonstrates some of the remarkable innovation coming out of a home grown business with customers in more than 100 countries.

The presentation was well received and was followed by supper and some one-on-one Q'n'A with John.
